Are you a first time home buyer? You may qualify for an 8000 tax credit. There are some basic requirements you should be aware of. Firstly, you can not have owned a home in the past 3 years. The 8000 tax credit is for homes purchased in 2009.
Requirements
The home you purchase must be your primary residence. You cannot purchase a home from a close relative. If you're a single taxpayer you must make less than $75,000. If you file jointly you must make less than $150,000. Finally, you must qualify for an FHA loan.
